We're Hiring- Part-time Shipping Coordinator

NorthernStar Mothers Milk Bank is hiring, and we are looking for a bright and enthusiastic Shipping Coordinator who thrives in a busy team environment. Job Posting: Shipping Coordinator

Location: 160 – 6712 Fisher St. S.E. Calgary, Alberta

Wage: $20 - $22 hourly, health benefits after 3 months

Schedule: Part-time, 4 days per week (24 – 28 hours weekly)

Education Required: Post-secondary education or relevant past experience

NorthernStar Mothers Milk Bank is a charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of infants, mothers, and families through the safe provision of breast milk. Our mission revolves around promoting breastfeeding, facilitating milk donation, and providing essential resources to hospitals and the wider community. We firmly believe in the power of community engagement to positively impact vulnerable lives.


  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing milk shipments, including booking couriers (FedEx and local) and ordering dry ice.

  • Oversee shipping supply inventory, arrange supply delivery to milk depots, and maintain transport cooler inventory.

  • Assist the laboratory team in packing milk for shipments when required.

  • Conduct routine regulatory checks at milk distribution sites.

  • Maintain and update occupational health and safety responsibilities and perform regular safety inspections.

  • Fulfill additional administrative duties as necessary.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a genuine and compassionate approach, ensuring that all interactions with visitors and stakeholders reflect our values.


  • A self-driven and independent work ethic, taking initiative and ownership of tasks.

  • A true team player, actively contributing to shared objectives and fostering a collaborative environment.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a solution-oriented mindset.

  • A deep commitment to our charitable cause, passionately advocating for our mission and values in all endeavors.

  • Previous experience in a similar role or relevant field is preferred, demonstrating a track record of achievement in line with organizational goals.

  • Good physical health as this is a moderately active position, requiring periods of standing and walking. You must be able to lift up to 25lbs at a time.
