NorthernStar Mothers Milk Bank is Canada’s only community-based nonprofit milk bank, providing safe, pasteurized donor human milk to fragile babies across the country. We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and mission-driven Manager of Clinical Operations & Donor Support to join our leadership team.
This role oversees day-to-day donor services, outpatient milk support, clinical workflow, and team operations to ensure that donor mothers, hospital partners, and families receive exceptional, timely care.
Location Option:
The position is based in Calgary.
Qualified candidates who live in Edmonton may apply for a remote work arrangement, with regular travel to Calgary.
Travel Requirement:
2-3 trips per month to Calgary for team meetings, operational coordination, and in-person work.
Increased travel during onboarding (frequency determined by training needs and candidate experience).
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations for donor intake, screening, outpatient approvals, and donor/family communication.
Supervise and support the donor services team, fostering a compassionate and efficient environment.
Ensure accurate and timely data entry, documentation, and clinical workflow management.
Coordinate outpatient orders and Medical Relief Fund applications.
Maintain compliance with HMBANA and CFIA guidelines and internal policies.
Support families, hospitals, pharmacies, and community partners with accurate information and excellent service.
Assist with departmental reporting, process improvements, and program development.
Lead and participate in fundraising, advocacy, and educational initiatives to engage healthcare professionals and the public.
Qualifications
RN with Master’s degree
IBCLC designation is a strong asset
2–4 years of experience in clinical operations, donor services, or health services
Experience working with mothers, infants, or postpartum programs is an advantage
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Empathy, professionalism, and comfort supporting families during emotional situations
Remote candidates must be able to travel to Calgary 2-3 times monthly, with additional trips during onboarding
Salary and Benefits:
$80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
