While we can’t physically come together this year for the Shaw Charity Classic, Shaw is committed to continuing the tournament’s legacy of giving. To make your generous contribution go further, from now until August 30, Shaw will match your donation and the matched donation amount will then be matched again by the Shaw Charity Classic, up to an additional 50 per cent. Your $10 donation can grow into a donation of $30 to our Community Care Program. You can text-to-donate in $10 increments as many times as you like, and each donation will be matched. Our Community Care Program is used to assist babies in the community whose families cannot afford the dispensing cost of donor human milk. While the cost of milk is covered for babies in hospital, once a baby is discharged there is a significant cost to access donor human milk. Our Community Care Program, which is generated solely from individual, family and corporate donors, ensures families can continue to access the livesaving benefits of donor human milk for their baby once they leave the hospital. Due to COVID-19, our donations for this program are down significantly and the donations and matched contributions raised through the #ChipinforKids program will help ensure that charities like ours that have been strained by COVID-19 will be able to continue supporting our community.
