Christina & Kellan's Donor Story

NorthernStar Milk Donor baby Kellan survives and thrives after a diagnosis in utero. His mum Christina has donated almost 20 LITRES of milk to the milk bank, to be pasteurized and sent to other babies in need all across Canada.

Here is their story:

"Kellan is an SUA baby. I was diagnosed early on in the pregnancy with Single Umbilical Artery condition, which we were told would hinder Kellan's growth in utero. Kellan defied all the odds and surpassed growth expectations, and continues to do so . He is in the 95th percentile for his age at 9 1/2 months old 😊.

When he was born, within the first month I realized my milk production was on extreme side. I immediately began seeking options to donate, and froze the excess milk . I tried to donate via facebook pages to local mothers, but I think some were wary because of COVID-19.

In the end I prayed about it, and eventually came across the NorthernStar Mothers Milk Bank page. I began the process to become a donor.

Knowing his milk is helping premature babies fills my heart with so much joy . Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing organization 💜🤗"

Sincerely, Christina, NorthernStar Milk Donor

Thank you, Christina, for all you have done for other babies and families.
