It took us three years and fertility treatments to start our family.
I now have two beautiful daughters and feel so lucky every day for them. Luckier still that breastfeeding has come very easily to us. I have had an abundance of milk (as witnessed by my daughter's delicious rolls 😆), and the actual act of nursing has been easy and natural.
Most of the women in my family formula fed for their own reasons, so breastfeeding was something that while my family supported me, I didn't really have any resources for it. After educating myself on the benefits of breast milk, I felt pulled to do what I could to help those babies who needed the benefits the most. I have felt so lucky to have had two healthy babies and a great breastfeeding relationship that donating milk seemed like something I just had to do.
