Our sweet and rascally little Duncan was a month premature and a teeny little guy at 3lb 14oz, and was IUGR meaning Intrauterine Growth Restricted.
Because he was so tiny, he wasn’t strong enough to exclusively breastfeed until 5 weeks old. I pumped and we bottle fed this hungry little guy, and I was fortunate enough to have tons of supply.
After 5 weeks we had a freezer full of milk, but Duncan didn’t need it all. I searched out some options and heard about @northernstar_milk_bank and what they do for so many babies and families. I was lucky enough to donate 7.6L of milk, and it fed little babies in need in hospitals around the country.
I encourage other mamas who are able to donate if possible!
