Donor Story: Angelie & Ella

NorthernStar Milk Donor Angelie has donated an incredible amount of milk with her baby Ella! She kindly shared her story with us:

"Last September 2022, I was one month postpartum, and didn’t expect that I would produce so much breastmilk. Our deep freezer was already filled with breastmilk, and I didn't know where to put the rest of my stash.

Baby Ella would always have a milk bath, and I even made breastmilk soaps. But I still had so much extra. I’d never heard of a milk bank, so I browsed the internet and came across NorthernStar Mothers Milk Bank.

My heart is so happy that this charitable organization exists. I immediately phoned, and completed all the tests and paperwork. A few weeks later, I was so delighted that I was approved to become a Milk Donor!

As of now, I have already been able to donate 81.5 L of breastmilk. I feel so elated and fortunate being able to help all the babies in need across Canada. I thank God for making me an instrument to help fragile and sick babies.

Of course, this wouldn’t be possible without Baby Louise: “Ella”. This is one of the greatest deeds I’ve done so far. It was such a humbling experience. I’m also grateful for my husband’s support with my breastfeeding journey."

Thank you, NorthernStar Milk Bank! - Angelie

Thanks for my Eat Local Onesie! - Baby Ella 💓
